Supported Standards
RedTail Solutions supports all of the major EDI
standards that enable companies to communicate
with each other, regardless of their internal
systems. These standards must be adhered to in
order to preserve the foundation on which data
is exchanged. Brief overviews of these standards
are listed below:
Data Transformation and Translation
ASC X12 - Chartered by ANSI (the American National Standards Institute) the Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) X12 develops, maintains, interprets, publishes and promotes the proper use of Electronic Data Interchange Standards. The ASC X12 standard has become the de-facto standard of choice for US-based EDI operations.
EDIFACT - UN/EDIFACT (United Nations/Electronic Data Interchange For Administration, Commerce, and Transport) is the international EDI standard developed under the United Nations. The work of maintenance and further development of this standard is done through the United Nations Centre for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business (UN/CEFACT) under the UN Economic Commission for Europe. EDIFACT has been adopted by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) as the ISO standard ISO 9735 and has become the de-facto standard of choice for international EDI operations.
